Student Goal:
During
this project, your students should use the knowledge gained
from your class lessons and the research they complete
to create an original diary. This diary should show the use of
analytical thinking: the students should show that they have
applied their own
knowledge and opinions to historically correct information. |
Evaluation Rubric
| Language Arts |
Uses correct grammar, syntax, spelling and form in
diary. Also uses an appropriate tone and creates appropriate mood. |

| History |
Diary
displays accurate historical information, understanding of events
discussed. |

| Analysis |
Final diary shows critical thinking
and application skills. For example, the student has researched the
event and can accurately place himself in the time period to describe
the sentiments of someone actually there. |

| Creativity |
Final
project and presentation shows use of imaginative and creative thought
in writing the diary. Give full credit for original and thought-provoking
entries. Should be able to see the image created by words. |
